The Shilin Speed Reading Institute is a personal development and education focused company.

Our signature programme, the Shilin Speed Reading Programme is an advanced, practical and in-depth speed reading course which is presented live by a uniquely trained course facilitator.
What is Shilin Speed Reading?
Shilin Speed reading is a philosophy, training methodology, and practical education course that is designed to unlock the higher mental processing faculties of your brain – so that you can read and learn faster while maintaining comprehension of what you read.
The course was originally created by Dmitriy A. Shilin, a Ukranian emigrant who today lives in Cape Town, South Africa. Dmitriy created the course for his own personal use, but later on began teaching students in his native Ukraine in the 1980s.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s Dmitriy stopped training the course for a period of 17 years.
In 2012 the Shilin Speed Reading Institute was formed to reintroduce the work to the world as a time when it is needed the most.

MARTIN SAM
Chief Executive Officer
Martin Sam is the CEO, co-founder, owner and the head-facilitator of the Shilin Speed Reading Institute.
Having first attended the course as a client in 2010, Martin partnered with Dmitriy Shilin (the course creator) to help share this unique course with the world.
He began facilitating the course in 2016 and has since taken over as the lead facilitator of the Shilin Speed Reading Programme.
He has over 10 years of experience as a student of speed reading and over 7 years’ experience in helping others develop their reading speed.
DMITRIY SHILIN
The Shilin Speed Reading Course Creator
Dmitriy is a businessman, husband, father and Ukrainian emigrant who lives in Cape Town South Africa. Dmitriy is the creator of the original version of the Shilin Speed Reading Programme.
In order to supplement his income to support his family he began teaching students how to read faster using his own personal training methodology. On the second presentation of the course he “accidentally” discovered power of his training method when one of his students, Irina Ivanchenko, began reading full page lengths of text with full comprehension of what she read.
Dmitriy and his school went onto train thousands of students in the Ukraine between the mid-1980s and early 1990s. He serves a consultative role in the company.
